This is followed by sedimentation, where the heavy particles settle at the bottom of large tanks.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-text stk-block-text stk-block stk-d812e49\" data-block-id=\"d812e49\"><p class=\"stk-block-text__text\">The next step is filtration, where water passes through layers of sand and gravel, removing smaller particles and residues.
