1st International Water Conference in Cyprus under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture
Mr. Kostas Athanasiou’s speech at the International Water Conference focused on drinking water, the challenges and opportunities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The 1st International Forum on Water was organized in Cyprus, where many university professors from various countries, directors of the Ministries of Agriculture and Health from Cyprus and Greece, the State Chemistry Laboratory, and others participated. All the speakers addressed the major water issues and the dangers posed when we drink water contaminated with chemical pollutants and pathogenic microorganisms.
Mr. Kostas Athanasiou, a water specialist certified by the Water Quality Association of America, analyzed the major problems of water pollution. In his speech at the International Water Conference, Mr. Athanasiou explained the significant health risks and emphasized that only families can provide a radical solution to the quality of the water they drink. He also mentioned the dangers posed by chlorine when we drink it along with water, stressing that our bodies do not eliminate chlorine, resulting in the current high number of kidney patients, the development of heart diseases, and other serious illnesses.
Chlorinated water, when we drink it, destroys the good soldiers of the stomach that kill pathogenic microorganisms and more. They compete with antibiotics when we take them, resulting in them being ineffective in addressing the problem for which they are prescribed.
Finally, he emphasized the great importance of informing the public about the major issue of water quality and how we can address it. At this conference, Mr. Kostas Athanasiou and the company Camelot® were awarded for their contribution to prevention and health.
