Explosive cocktail bottled waters (TO VIMA)
Bottled waters are dangerous according to new research. In the last eight years, one in ten samples contains a multitude of dangerous pathogenic microorganisms.
Dangerous bottled waters contain coliforms, pseudomonads, and enterococci.
Greek scientists have detected dangerous pathogenic microorganisms in domestic bottled waters, which were subjected to the scrutiny of an eight-year research study. Coliforms, pseudomonads, and other microbes “enrich” the water we consume in several cases. This is an “explosive” cocktail that can cause infections in individuals with weakened immune systems. According to new, unpublished extensive research by specialists from the Universities of Patras and Thrace, presented today by “To Vima,” 13.95% of the samples of bottled mineral water tested from 1995 to 2003 did not meet the specifications of Greek legislation.
According to researchers, the main “culprits” for the microbial contamination of bottled waters are the bottling equipment and mainly the storage temperature of the bottled waters.
